Good place for a short walk with the dogs muddy and wet. Some dogs may need to be on lead as there are several catle permanently resident in the reserve. Also lots of cow dung.
It's a nice area, as it is the walk up to Cairnpapple Hill which has amazing views. However a safe path is needed to be able to walk from Bathgate. At the moment is quite dangerous. Shame because it's a beautiful area.
Outstanding place. Designated a place of special scientific interest due to fossils, rare plants and dragonflies. Amazing how close this is to Bathgate and yet so deserted.Not suitable for very young children due to the large hidden pond.
Pleasant and quiet place for short afternoon walk.
